Cornwall in my heart
The sky came alive on Christmas Eve past,
Beautiful colours of peach, cool blues and azure,
The strong winds creating amazing cloud formations,
Before the light disappears,
Capturing the moment.
Words and thoughts of seeing this uplifting experience driving across to Lamorna from Newlyn in South West Cornwall and having to pull over into a lay-by to take it all in. It was a magical fleeting moment.
Original expressive watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper acid free bockingford 425 gsm 200 lb.
I applied wet on wet back washes of colour using a Chinese hake and worked with sweeping brushstrokes building in different shades all over then created an undulating baseline for the landscape.
