A man reads while his dog waits patiently in a bookshop. I spotted this dapper gent and his labrador in Heffers bookshop, Cambridge, and was instantly captivated. This black and white, single-block linocut is hand-printed in an edition of 100. It captures a quiet moment of companionship—perhaps the man is reading aloud, the dog listening intently, or maybe just waiting for the next sensory adventure. Is he guarding his owner, giving him space to get lost in the pages? You decide. I was drawn to the calm connection between them and the quiet humour of the scene.
