Small one of a kind surrealistic artwork
Ballpoint pen on paper
An image of one of my most interesting hypnagogic hallucinations which seems to include the pleasure of eating and sexual desire. The food depicted is a warm pasticcio which is my favourite food, mixed with body parts. Some of those hallucinations are a surprise for me, with this one being both funny and genuinely erotic.
Part of the series "hypnagogia".
Hypnagogia is the transitional state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep. During hypnagogia it's common to experience involuntary and imagined experiences.
Actual body senses, sounds, conversations, images that appear (rush) just when I fall asleep. I had them since I was a child, I noticed them at the age of 23 and I recently found that there is a term for that experience. I perceive it as a third state of existence (after dreaming), extremely unique and with a strong sense of delicate equilibrium.
