There is a quiet gravity that draws people toward one another, across any distance and against all reason. Some people you simply move toward, without quite deciding to.
Come Together is an original acrylic painting on board, 40 x 30cm, part of my ongoing series The Middle Country. It began the way these paintings always do, with a loose, accidental ground, half accident and half intention, made somewhere in the middle where the paint and I meet. Out of that ground came a soft landscape of pink and gold, cockatoos gathered in the golden trees, and two figures moving toward one another across the open ground between them.
I paint the things that mean something to me: my family, held in the figures and the birds who move through this glowing, imagined landscape. This one is about the quiet, unreasoned pull that draws certain people together, the kind that needs no explanation and asks for none.
Painted with artist quality acrylics on MDF board. Ready to hang. Certificate of authenticity included. Ships worldwide direct from my studio in Brisbane, Australia.
