Artist's description:

It is an interesting phenomenon that no really "serious" artists paint babies. Not if they want to be taken seriously. I googled "baby paintings" and was rewarded with a wall of sentimental, big-eyed toddlers hugging kittens. Which is fine but rather lop-sided. What about the naive joy? The inherant widom? The exhuberant silliness? There are so many facets of youth that no-one has touched... It calls to me to visit the subject of childhood in perhaps a guileless and genuine way. Can it be done?
