Original artwork description
Cold Silence (2024)
“Silence is rarely empty. In the heart of a frozen landscape, it has a weight and a color—a vivid, piercing clarity that vibrates just beneath the surface of the mist.”
* The Electric Chill: This 70 x 100 cm contemporary painting reimagines the traditional seascape through a lens of heightened sensory perception. While it depicts a world shrouded in fog, the palette defies expectations with a saturated, luminous turquoise that cuts through the grey ether. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled the coastline into a singular, glowing horizontal pulse, creating a visual tension between the biting cold of the atmosphere and the raw intensity of the water.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Cold Silence marks a profound entry in my "sonic diary." It references a track characterized by deep, resonant bass and sharp, crystalline high notes—a soundscape of vast, open spaces. I invite the collector to find the music within this vibrant haze; only when the track’s atmospheric pressure aligns with the saturated glazes on the linen is the true frequency of this "living stillness" unlocked.
* Vivid Submerged Layers: Executed on premium linen canvas, the work is built on a series of daring, high-chroma layers obscured by "heavy" translucent mists. Using unconventional DIY tools like industrial sponges and worn rags, I’ve created a surface that feels like looking through thick ice into a deep, electric sea. This abstract landscape serves as a bold focal point, offering a sense of calm that is both meditative and intensely energizing.
