Still life study of two lemons, painted in the style of chiaroscuro. The underlying principle is that solidity of form is best achieved by the light falling against it. Artists known for developing the technique include Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio and Rembrandt.

I love paintings that 'pack a punch' and for me this highly contrasted technique just really works to create that drama that I'm looking for.
