The largest in my series of 'pop art food' paintings is this canvas depicting a standard box of fried chicken, chips, and ketchup. I know it may seem unusual but it's like my equivalent of Andy Warhol's soup can, an instantly recognisable symbol of city-living but rendered in a bright, eye-catching way.
I've lived in London for many years and these type of chicken shops are everywhere, and whilst I know fast food is unhealthy, this painting is intended more as a fun homage to fried chicken and a celebration of city living than a critique on anything. The food objects are suspended against my trademark blue background as per my standard style. The second image shows me standing next to it with the same box depicted.
It's a bold, colourful and unique piece that is sure to light up any room in the house. It was painted on a stretched cotton canvas in acrylic paint with no need for framing as the edges are painted. It's ready to hang.
