Original artwork description
I came across this amazing building in Chicago, a blaze of colour and decaying signage. Next door was a men only hotel, a few yards away the shadow of a prison. It was very 'noir' and I decided I would need to paint it. I chose a canvas that was long and thin, to capture the entire length of the building and a palette of riotous yellows and reds to reflect the nostalgic Americana. The canvas can hang without being framed.

acrylic and collage
