SO ALLOW MISTAKES TO HAPPEN
The first layer was a free for all in charcoal, sealed with clear gesso and then the stencilled text added over the top. It started off loosely inspired by Richard Diebenkorn's writings on his studio wall, and then the words became about the process of the painting itself. The middle layer of stencilled text is with Golden's interference paint, the colours change with the angle of the light. Colours used are blue/green, green/ orange and violet/ green. It sounds horrific but actually they worked so well in this painting and add some subtle colour. The painting is sealed with Liquitex satin varnish.
