Brendon hills valley, Exmoor, Somerset
Pastel colours in the sky,
A cluster of woodland on the high hilltop beyond,
The pale red and pink soil,
Warm shades behind the greens,
Trees and bushes defining the fields,
Druid’s Combe beneath.

Words and experience of my recent May Spring holiday.
Original expressive watercolour on hot pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb.
Created on holiday.
I drew out the landscape this time in pencil very sketchy. Then applied wet on wet washes for the sky and background colours. Next I painted the trees on the highest hilltop.
Signed on the front and back of watercolour.
