Bluebell Wanderings (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Mel Graham

The gnarly wood of Shillito in Derbyshire inspired this magical woodland scene. We were wandering along listening to the cuckoo, admiring the bluebells and tree shapes when a herd of cows came onto the path. As they had calves and we had a dog, plus they weren't moving for us (!) we had to double back and go the long way round. It meant I had even more time to enjoy the dappled light and weird and wonderful branches.
