Original artwork description:

I made this work on a wooden panel, treated the base with chalk and glue then coloured it with the ground colour lila, traced the outline of the painting with chalk and only then did I start painting with oil colour.

I use oil colour by superimposing many thin layers of appropriately diluted colour to create the effects I want.

I reinterpreted a work by the Great Master W. BOUGUEREAU entitled DURA LESSON.
I really like this work which depicts a little girl reading a book.
Her expression is enigmatic and intense, I am curious to discover her thoughts, every time I look at the work I imagine that the little girl is telling me something interesting that she has discovered on those pages!
This work is part of the GRANDI MAESTRI series and I finished painting it in 2015.

The work does not have a frame

The work is signed on the front and back and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity

for shipping outside the EU we need to wait for authorisation from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and this may cause a delay of a few days

Materials used:
