Original artwork description
I created this abstract painting as a meeting point between openness and structure — a composition where pale light, layered texture, and earthy depth exist together in quiet contrast.
Working with acrylic on canvas, I developed the surface through layered applications using palette knife and expressive brushwork. Soft blue-grey, ivory, white, charcoal, deep brown, beige, and warm ochre tones create a refined neutral palette filled with subtle movement and spatial depth.
The composition is built around intersecting horizontal and vertical forms that suggest reflection, distance, and architectural rhythm without becoming fully representational. Textured layers, expressive marks, scraped passages, and fluid line work create movement across the canvas while preserving calm visual balance.
I wanted this painting to feel expansive yet grounded — like a place where cool open space meets warm earth tones through light and texture. The surface changes beautifully throughout the day, revealing shifting nuances of pale blue, ivory, charcoal, warm brown, and ochre depending on the surrounding light.
This large neutral abstract painting is designed as statement wall art for modern interiors. Its panoramic format works beautifully above a sofa, in a living room, office, bedroom, or contemporary architectural space. The sophisticated palette makes it ideal for minimalist, Scandinavian, modern, Japandi, or luxury interiors.
For me, this work is about connection through contrast — softness meeting structure, openness meeting depth.
