Bessie's Dress (2020) Original Watercolour by Suzsi Corio

Bessie's dress is one of a series of dress portraits, and was made using layers of watercolours, textured gesso, and inks. Fragments of hand-painted papers were collaged onto the body of the dress to create a slightly 3D effect.
This original painting was shortlisted for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour (R.I.) 208th exhibition, as was 'Nancy's Dress from the same series.
2 more of my dress paintings were selected for and exhibited with the R.I. in 2019.
