This original oil painting draws light from restrained grounds, allowing luminosity to emerge from deep, quiet tones. A river winds through the composition, its blue and violet surface holding fragmented reflections of cream, green, and sky. A luminous sandy bank catches the warm light of a summer day, contrasting with the dark tree masses that frame the water on either side. The eye is drawn into the depth of the scene, where light gathers at the horizon between the trees.

Rather than depicting a specific location, the painting explores landscape as a space shaped by light, memory, and the persistence of summer feeling. Rich textures reveal new details with sustained observation.
