This original oil painting draws light from restrained grounds, allowing luminosity to emerge from deep, quiet tones. A sharp black horizon line holds the composition in tension, while amber and gold light breaks through from behind, spilling across the water in warm, horizontal reflections. Cool blue and grey dominate the sky and lake surface, anchoring the intensity of the light at the centre.

Rather than depicting a specific location, the painting explores landscape as a space shaped by light, weather, and time. Rich textures reveal new details with sustained observation.
