Atmospheric Study No. 14 (2026) Original Oil Painting by Daria Zavadenko
28 x 28 x 2.5cm (framed) / 20 x 20cm (actual image size)
£219.43
Original artwork description
Part of an ongoing series exploring the relationship between horizon, atmosphere, and landscape space.
This original oil painting investigates light, atmosphere, and perception through a reduced landscape language. Built with expressive palette knife marks and layered oil paint, it captures the warm drama of a sunset sky above luminous, reflective water.
Soft pink and lavender clouds drift across the upper sky, while a glowing orange disc sits low on the horizon against a deep cobalt blue. A radiant band of yellow and white light fills the middle ground, scattered with gold flecks that shimmer across both sky and water. The lower zone offers quiet counterpoint — cool teal and blue, horizontal and still.
Rather than depicting a specific location, the painting explores landscape as a space shaped by light, weather, and time. Rich textures reveal new details with sustained observation.
