This painting is inspired by the image of Yacht Club de Dinard that I had once seen and recently had a vague memory of: pretty white yachts with sails down are parked by the beach, calm near a peaceful seaside. The sun shines bright through the white-and-gray clouds that hint at a less serene scene that might or might not come later. The sea and sky, and the overall scenery are blurry, fostering an atmosphere of a hot summer day.
Our reality is a lot like these yachts: everything seems calm, but as soon as the wind blows, the world will move and the sails will rise. Buy "Yachts at a Pier", and it will become a piece of calm that yet implies action within your interior.
