My paintings are often inspired by my love and fascination with ever-changing skies and cloud formation. I try to capture the movement and mood of the sky - Calm and dreamy, to dramatic and surreal.
In this piece, I aimed to capture the surrealities and drama of a tempestuous sky, observed high over the coast of Anglesey, North Wales,
The sky's layers and swirling cumulus clouds are developed by forming texture through layering and blending the oil paint, building depth and highlights.
