This original acrylic painting is inspired by the apricot blossom season in the Wachau region of Austria.
Soft spring colours and expressive forms capture the freshness of the landscape as the Wachau awakens after winter. Delicate blossom tones contrast with greens, blues and warm accents, creating a luminous and uplifting atmosphere.
The artwork is part of my Chromatic Austria series, in which I reinterpret Austrian landscapes, nature and regional identity through expressive colour, simplified forms and emotional atmosphere rather than strict realism.
The painting was created with acrylic paint on stretched canvas using brushes and palette knives. Layered colour, visible marks and textured passages give the surface movement and depth.
