Anticipation (2024) Original Oil Painting by Dick van Dijk
50 x 60 x 2.5cm (unframed) / 50 x 60cm (actual image size)
£840.28
Original artwork description
The painting shows a quiet, private moment; faces turned toward each other in a gesture of tenderness. The figures are built from a palette of muted pinks, dusty reds, turquoise, blue, ochre, cream, and warm earthy tones. I “sculpt” the human forms with paint, building and erasing their contours until they begin to "breathe". The surrounding space is indistinct, allowing the figures to emerge from and disappear back into the painterly surface.
