Among the Scottish Mountains is an original landscape painting inspired by the peaceful, expansive character of the Scottish countryside.

A solitary white house sits at the foot of green mountain slopes, surrounded by open fields and a winding stream. The composition contrasts the small scale of the house with the vastness of the surrounding landscape, creating a feeling of quietness and freedom.

I used expressive brushwork and layered colour to capture the changing greens of the valley, the cool tones of the mountains and the warm light falling across the fields. Rather than depicting the landscape in a strictly photographic way, I wanted to preserve its atmosphere and emotional impression.

The painting is part of my continuing exploration of landscape as a place of stillness, memory and connection with nature.
