Among the Grasses (2026) Original Oil Painting by Maija Nochevnaya

Among the Grasses

An intricate weave of stems and long grasses almost entirely fills the composition. Pale clusters of flowers emerge among countless fine lines, interrupting the muted natural palette with small flashes of white.

There is no dominant focal point. The eye moves freely through the grasses, pauses on individual details, and then dissolves again into their dense rhythm. An ordinary fragment of vegetation becomes a contemplative space in its own right.
