American Contrasts (2010) Original Oil Painting by Olga Onopko

In this painting, I wanted not only to highlight the beauty of the cityscape, but also to build the composition and colour scheme entirely around contrasts. Against the backdrop of static architecture lies a motorway; against the stark blue background of the buildings are the warm hues of the street lamps. Modern architecture with glass windows and the ancient columns of the bridge in the foreground.
