- Bradwell from Tollesbury
Original artwork description
This is a view across Tollesbury salt marshes on the coast of Essex, England. It’s a fairly undiscovered part of the country with wonderful light & unique scenery. The building on the horizon is the now disused Bradwell power station. I was drawn to the juxtaposition of the monolithic building against the tranquil marshland and sea.
Another painting of this view from my salt marsh series was exhibited and sold at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London 2022 and a second one was selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.
Also, and thanks to Artfinder, I've sold a further 3 paintings from this series.
This mixed media landscape canvas was made by using thin layers of oils, acrylics and inks onto a gesso ground. Areas of the painting were then lightly sanded and scratched away to enhance the texture and light effects.
The canvas is sold ready to hang, with the painting continuing around the sides of the canvas for continuity. It is sold framed in a professionally made white float/tray wood frame - see close up detail in photo gallery. NB there is a 2nd small white building in the painting which is better seen in the close up and framed photos.
Materials used:
acrylic, oil, ink and gesso
Details:
- Mixed-media painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 48 x 42 x 4cm (framed) / 45 x 40cm (actual image size)
- Framed and ready to hang
- Signed certificate of authenticity
- Style: Expressive and gestural
