Abstract. Dawn (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Diana Ivashkevich

140 x 70 x 5cm (unframed) / 140 x 70cm (actual image size)

£1,368.8

This original abstract painting explores the contrast between darkness and emerging light. Deep burgundy, black and earthy tones surround a luminous centre of warm cream, beige and gold, creating a sense of depth, movement and transition.

Dynamic lines and expressive marks guide the eye through the composition towards the light. The work may evoke a landscape, a distant horizon, a path or the first light of a new day — but the composition intentionally remains open to personal interpretation.

The surface is built through multiple layers of acrylic paint and texture paste. Raised areas, visible brushwork and handmade textures give the painting a strong physical presence and allow its appearance to change subtly depending on the direction of the light.

The idea of dawn is not only represented through colour. For me, it reflects a moment of transition — the point between darkness and light, uncertainty and possibility, ending and beginning.
