There is a lot of heat and sunshine in Africa, too much, in my opinion. I haven't even been to Africa, south of Egypt, but even there, the daytime sun seems to burn the earth, the stones, and the buildings to the ground. And at sunset, the sun is glorious. It colours everything around in shades of yellow, like molten gold and red, from a light red to a dark red, like a ruby. I share with you my delight at seeing the sunset.
The sides of the painting are covered with paint in the same colours as the painting itself.
