Original artwork description
Without a Past is a contemporary surrealist painting exploring memory, identity, and the possibility of new beginnings. A solitary man in a blue suit sits with his back to the viewer, recalling the quiet figures of Parisian cafés, present in the world yet absorbed in their own inner landscape.
Two white pigeons rest on his head, suggesting thoughts, desires, and subconscious impulses, while a nest with eggs hints at a future waiting to emerge. The soft pink background creates a suspended, timeless atmosphere.
Balancing psychological depth with subtle absurdity, the painting offers an intriguing focal point for collectors drawn to narrative figurative art and contemporary surrealism.
Selected for presentation at HAAM 2026 in Hamburg as part of a group exhibition.
