3747 "Farewell" (2020) Original Oil Painting by Evgenia Saré

50 x 50 x 2cm (unframed)

£1,468.38

In "Farewell" I explore the quiet, lingering tension of a departure. The composition is divided by a sharp vertical threshold: on the left, a structured, floral-patterned space where two figures watch from the shadows, their expressions caught between contemplation and melancholy. On the right, a dark, atmospheric void occupied by a solitary, winged figure who appears to be turning away, perhaps stepping into the unknown.

This piece is a meditation on the concept of "Farewell" -the finality, the hesitation, and the silent communication that occurs when paths diverge. The contrast between the ornate, grounded figures on the left and the ethereal, almost bird-like figure on the right highlights the distance created by a farewell. With "Farewell" I wanted to capture the emotional weight of a moment that is simultaneously heavy with meaning and vanishingly brief, inviting the viewer to step into this enigmatic, dreamlike narrative.

About
I paint a world inhabited by creatures who exist between two states - neither fully human, nor entirely elsewhere. Jesters, puppets, dreamers, lovers, mask-wearers. Tender and grotesque, serious and absurd.... Read more
