About Zhanna Kondratenko

Biography

I’m Zhanna Kondratenko, a contemporary painter from Ukraine. For me, a blank canvas is a universe waiting to be discovered — a quiet space where color, emotion, and rhythm gradually find their own balance. Each painting begins as an intuitive exploration of states that constantly shift — from calm and harmony to tenderness or powerful, expressive energy.

My creative process unfolds through several ongoing series — landscapes, city scenes, abstract compositions, figurative works, and my lyrical “Water Lilies” cycle. Each one explores a distinct facet of perception and feeling, combining movement, texture, and color in its own visual rhythm. I work mainly with oil and mixed media, layering pigment and structure to create surfaces that feel both emotional and tactile. Most of my canvases are handmade — built, stretched, and primed by myself, so the creative process begins long before the first brushstroke, making each painting truly one of a kind.

I love working across diverse formats — from intimate small paintings to large statement canvases — because scale changes how emotion breathes within the work. My goal is always to create spaces where viewers can pause, sense, and connect — where color and emotion resonate long after the first glance.

My artworks are part of private collections across nearly thirty countries worldwide — including the USA, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, Italy, Portugal, and Japan.
