His personal perspective, which explores the conformist culture of the society he encounters before transforming it into a captivating artistic aesthetic, serves as the basis for his creative worldview. His shadowy, provocative images of women represent an intriguing combination of conformity and freedom in both form and content.
Viktor Sheleg was born in 1962. He lives and works in Latvia. Sheleg's works have been exhibited in Latvia, Russia, Finland, the USA, the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Poland, and Italy, and he has participated in many major art fairs, including: Art Ireland (Dublin), Art Zurich International, Art Edinburgh, The Affordable Art Fair (London), Art Melbourne, Affordable Art Fair (Paris), Glasgow Art Fair, Edinburgh Art Fair, Affordable Art Fair Brussels, AAF NYC, and AAF Amsterdam. From 1990 to 2023, Victor Sheleg created more than 2,300 paintings, almost all of which are in private collections.
