About Valentina Kozyar

Biography

She was born in 1962 in Khotyn, Chernivtsi region. In 1984, she graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of the DPI in Odessa, where she absorbed the traditions of South Ukrainian impressionism and the elegance characteristic of the Odessa school, which is manifested in the painstaking work of the artist on the image, the careful selection of coloristic nuances and compositional solutions. She continued her creative path in Bukovyna, where the Lviv school had a significant influence on the artist. The bright decorative qualities of painting characteristic of her are present in the works of the artist, and the compositional basis of the works is based on realistic tendencies.
Participant of international, national and regional exhibitions since 1984.
Valentyna Kozyar is the heart and an active member of the Art-Hotyn creative group. Her works are characterized by bold color solutions, mysterious images and exquisite compositions. The image and background can change places, one or another part of the background can join the image, forming a new version of the image. The color solution is based, first of all, on the ratio of tones and halftones. The works reflect reality through the prism of the artist's thoughts and feelings. At the same time, the lack of specificity in the images attracts the viewer to the completion of the image of the work, through their own feelings, thoughts and emotions. The images create the illusion of portraying unknown characters, addressed to us by our own reflections, it serves as a kind of mirror of the viewer's inner world. The perception of painting is determined by the richness of the associative visual series, first of all, by the experience of "contemplation" of works of art.
