Anthony D. aka Kishkindha, b.1981 in France, living in Portugal since 2005.

My work is rooted in a lifelong fascination with geography, cities, coastlines and the stories that landscapes can tell. Trained in geography and urban planning, I create hand-drawn imaginary maps that explore the relationship between place, memory, loss and imagination.

with ink, watercolour and coloured pencil, I build fictional territories that borrow from the visual language of historical cartography while remaining entirely invented.

of my maps incorporate poetry and fragmented texts, inviting the viewer to wander through the drawing as one might wander through a landscape.

I believe maps are more than tools for navigation: they can also be objects of contemplation, emotion and storytelling.
