I have always been fascinated by the perspective of being outside and looking in: into a window, onto a street scene, into an intimate still life setting. I use color and heavy brush strokes to convey mood and energy. Inspired by post-impressionism, I am trying add vibrancy to what can sometimes be a plain world. It is a vibrancy tinged with nostalgia, maybe it's true that my scenes are more colorful than reality, but they are the reality I prefer.‏

Suren Nersisyan is a well-known professional artist, painter, illustrator, and teacher. He received his formal art education at the Fine Arts Faculty of the Armenian State Pedagogical University. After earning his Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Suren began illustrating books, painting en plein air, and developing his own path in the world of fine art.

A child of nature, Suren firmly believes that humans are an integral part of it. His artworks convey the joy and beauty of the natural world, often expressing harmony through shapes and color. Complex compositions and an expressive use of brushstrokes and color form the core of his artistic language.

Inspired by Impressionism, Fauvism, and Post-Impressionism, Suren seeks to interpret the world through a unique lens. Grounded in traditional techniques, he blends these styles with a poetic use of color to create something truly his own. His dynamic synthesis of Western and Eastern art traditions has shaped the distinctive character of his work.

Suren primarily works in oil and watercolor. His paintings are part of private and public collections in France, the USA, Russia, Germany, China, and Singapore. He has also illustrated numerous books and textbooks and collaborated with film studios, including Warner Brothers. Many of his illustrations are licensed by international design companies.
