  • Biography
I am a Romanian-American abstract artist currently living in Arizona, USA. I received my BFA with honors from the University of Arts and Design, Cluj, Romania, where I majored in Fine Art Photography. I continued my studies as a recipient of a scholarship for studies in set, costumes and lighting design, at Teatro alla Scala, Milan, Italy. I’ve exhibited in numerous juried shows in the US, Romania, Italy and Chile. After living in Europe, the Middle East and South America, I moved to the U.S in 2014. My work sits somewhere between figuration and abstraction and rather than representing reality, I use my imagination and emotions to recreate it in a gestural manner. My inspiration comes from my own relationships with the others, from events that left a mark on me, and from nature, which I reconstruct either by memory or by combining pictures I take in my travels, photography being always present in my practice. I am also influenced by music, sculpture, land art, architecture, design and cinematography.
