Biography
Shellie Garber is a self-taught abstract painter based in Portland, Oregon. Since beginning her painting practice in 2015, she has created mixed media works on canvas, wood panel, and paper inspired by weathered surfaces, landscape, memory, and the passage of time. Through layered paint, texture, and intuitive mark making, her work explores atmosphere, memory, and a sense of history.
Shellie’s work has been exhibited throughout Oregon, including at the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery and RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, where she held a solo exhibition in 2020. In 2019, she received First Place and a Blue Ribbon at the Oregon Society of Artists Spring Exhibition.
