About Sean Briggs

  • Biography

Sean has spent over thirty years working in Publishing mostly with Magazine brands.  He sits on the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) Technical team in London advising on all aspects of Publishing and is a regular speaker at Media Industry events.

Sean’s sketch a day project, started in 2013, has built up a large social following with his Pinterest board having over 500,000 views per month.

Sean’s illustration and sketching style is a combination of traditional graphite, watercolour and ink on paper with digital finishing and preparation for print. His focus is on the quintessential aspects of Britain, whether it is the wildlife, the landscapes and landmarks, or the people and their activities.

Sean was born on the Pennine hills of West Yorkshire where his love of nature developed. He now lives with his family in a small village in Buckinghamshire, close enough to London for work but still in the countryside he enjoys.

“My work is about catching a moment in a fluid and unconstrained manner. To portray a feeling or an emotion as simply as possible. If I’m not out in the wilds sketching, then I’ll be in my studio drawing or painting, it’s what I love to do.”
