  • Biography

"Sava’s wall mounted reliefs and masks show his mastery of woodcarving and his deep interest in both nature and ethnic artefacts and traditions. The combination makes for compelling viewing." Alex Heath, Artfinder’s leading curator

Sava Draganov is a professional Bulgarian contemporary sculptor and very talented woodcarver, creating stunning sculptural art objects and amazing wooden wall art. Born in 1984 in the beautiful Balkan mountain town of Triavna among the deep pine and oak forests, in 2007 he graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia-city with master degree in art woodcarving and wood sculpture. Ever since his graduation he is tirelessly developing his talent, fascinated by the idea of finding ways of crafting gentle floral sceneries and geometric ethnic reliefs in all types of wood materials. He adores to honor traditions and connect them with modernist approach to contemporary pop art and organic abstract art.

Since 2017 he started working with the Bulgarian Integrated Artists Gallery in Sofia-city. Now this collaboration is leading to the successful distribution worldwide of more than 50 original artworks of his and overall development of his art style and art technique. Lots of his artworks are already part of private collections all over the EU, Australia, Canada and the US, Japan, China and the UK.
