About Paul Heron
Biography
Born in Edinburgh. Studied art/art history/architecture in Edinburgh and later philosophy in London. Have painted throughout my adult life but only full-time since retiring from Government Service. Have painted in various styles over the years, having gone through a relatively realistic phase to surreal/metaphysical to cubism and abstract. Huge influences being Picasso and Braque. I get little enjoyment from painting direct from nature, preferring to use my mind to create images. Sometimes pure abstract but more often than not recognisable elements appear.
