About Nataliia Plakhotnyk

  • Biography
My name is Nataliia, and I am an artist who speaks to the world through colour, light, and emotion. After the war began, I was forced to leave Ukraine and relocate to the United Kingdom. Today, my paintings find their new homes across different countries, shipping either from Ukraine or the UK. I am deeply grateful to everyone who supports art during such challenging times. In my work, I strive to capture what cannot be expressed in words: inner states, quiet moments, the strength of emotion, and the fragile spark of inspiration. I experiment with various materials, but oil painting holds a special place in my heart. Oil allows me to create depth, richness, and a living texture that makes each piece feel alive and ever‑changing. My inspiration comes from the world around me — nature, people, books, and the small moments that stay with us. But most often, the source is simply life itself. It is difficult for me to describe what inspires each individual painting, because every artwork is a reflection of my inner world. I believe that art should speak for itself. My paintings carry emotions, thoughts, and a piece of my soul that I share with the viewer. I create art to bring warmth, joy, and a sense of presence into a home. I want my paintings to become more than decoration—to become a personal story that stays with its owner for many years.
