About Maria Susarenko

Biography

“I have never listened to anyone who criticized my taste in space travel, sideshows or gorillas. When this occurs, I pack up my dinosaurs and leave the room.” - Ray Bradbury
My name is Maria Susarenko. I'm an artist and the member of Russian Artist's Union and IFA's member. I have master's degree in art area that I received in respectable Stiegiltz Academy of Art and Industry.

For me, art is a way to listen to silence.

In every line, I search for the breath of space; in every mark, for the trace of human presence.

I do not depict cities — I create inner landscapes where architecture becomes memory and light turns into time.

I am interested in the fragile balance between structure and emotion.

My line is not just a contour — it is rhythm, movement, and breath.

Through it, I speak about how a person is part of a structure, yet always slightly apart from it — an observer, a poet, a creator.

In my works, I try to convey a sense of presence — that moment when the city ceases to be a background and becomes part of one’s inner space.

For me, art is a conversation with time itself — a dialogue without beginning or end, where only the movement of the line remains.
