I am a painter living and working in London. I am originally from the West Country and visit several times a year to paint and gather inspiration for future work. 

I mostly paint plein air, from life. Occasionally I create visuals at source, including sketches, colour references and photographs and bring these into the studio to guide a painting, although imagination takes over pretty quickly.

I find inspiration everywhere, from the harbours and coastlines of the West Country to the streets, buildings and open spaces in London. It is often the most ordinary of subjects that stimulates my creativity. I prefer painting the 'less obvious' view - an inconspicuous path through the common, a busy street corner - but I am ultimately drawn to the effects of light and atmosphere on landscapes and cityscapes.
