Biography

About the Artist

I was born and raised in China, where my love for art began at a very early age. Painting quickly became more than an interest — it became a natural way for me to understand and express the world around me. I completed three years of formal training at an art school in China, building a strong foundation in traditional artistic techniques that continue to influence my work today.

My artistic journey later took me to Australia, where I began working as a street portrait artist. Creating portraits directly from life was an invaluable experience, teaching me to observe people closely and capture personality, mood, and fleeting moments with honesty and sensitivity. I later worked as an illustrator with Ross Perrett Golf Course Companies, expanding my professional skills and visual storytelling experience.

Eager to deepen my artistic education, I enrolled at Eastern College of TAFE in Melbourne, completing a two-year Associate Diploma of Arts program that broadened both my technical knowledge and creative perspective. After graduating, I worked as a Graphic Designer at Trellian Pty. Ltd., where I gained valuable experience in design and visual communication.

In 2000, I made Germany my permanent home. Over the past two decades, I have devoted myself primarily to painting and drawing. My work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions at local venues, allowing me to connect with collectors and audiences who share a passion for representational art.

I am deeply inspired by the great masters of the 19th century, particularly Claude Monet, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, and Nicolai Fechin, whose mastery of light, form, and atmosphere continues to guide my artistic approach. I also draw ongoing inspiration from contemporary painters such as Richard Schmid, David Leffel, and Sherrie McGraw, whose dedication to craftsmanship and observation resonates strongly with my own philosophy.

Through my paintings, I seek to capture beauty in everyday moments — balancing classical techniques with personal interpretation, and inviting viewers to pause, look closely, and experience a quiet sense of connection.
