About Lianne Issa

Biography

Lianne is a portrait artist based in Dorset in the UK. Although Lianne draws a variety of diffent genres her focus is in studying the human faces of the world and she strives to produce work which radiates a feeling of telling a person's story through capturing their unique facial expression and emotion.

Lianne works with Graphite, charcoal, Arylic, oil paints and her Nikon camera although her favourite medium will always be Graphite. once a piece is finished it is set wih special fixative to increase the arts longevity.

Since Lianne was at an age where she could pick up a pencil, she has had a love of drawing! But it wasn't until the age of 23 that she decided to study the art of drawing and practice her craft with the ambition of earning a living through art. Using every possible resource at her disposal she taught herself to draw and paint using certain tools and techniques.

With her drawings and paintings Lianne likes to strive for an element of photo realism whilst retaining an element of artistic style and flare, capturing her subjects likeness whilst at the same time making sure her art looks like artwork and not photographs. She works hard to develop her own style which she tries to improve upon and tweak with every completed work.

In 2014 Lianne took part in her first exhibitions. Purbeck Art weeks and the month long Shards Exhibition at the Bournemouth International centre in Aid of the Amy Winehouse fund. She won the award for best artist, and her painting 'drinking in the morning sun' was voted 'best piece of art' her drawing of 'little girl brazil' came second.
