About KEVAN MCGINTY

  • Biography
I live on the beautiful Machars peninsula in Dumfries and Galloway and enjoy painting both Highlands and Lowlands Scottish landscape paintings. Nature in the raw inspires all my work, from the mystery of vast space within mountains and glens, to the turbulent dramas of sea and river.
To achieve this I employ the vast versatility of acrylic paints on various supports, and do not stop until a unique and authentic expression has been reached. I can start either with specific subjects that have moved me on my travels, or by simply enjoying paint and allowing my memory and emotion to feed in and inform me as I work. Painting for me is a playground of emotion and imagination.
