About Gav Banns
Biography
For the past 15 years I have engaged in extensive sketching and drawing as a personal endeavour, reading and studying prolifically from the masters of old.
Submersing oneself into art silences the constant chatter of the mind, it allows you to enter a state of flow and being without any of the trappings or disturbances of modernity. As such, it is a necessity for myself personally, to make a meaningful connection with the physical world as perceived by the senses, as well as the internal. I paint things I find to be beautiful, and life affirming, within variations of impressionism; I seek design, colour and spontaneity over a strict representation view.
