About Daria Vergina

Biography

Hallo, In short, I am inspired by the power of the human spirit and the connection between psychology and art. In my work, I explore the idea of the horizon as an inner state rather than a physical line. Through abstraction, I explore the subtle psychological transitions that people experience—between fear and awareness, limitation and expansion, stillness and movement. Each painting becomes a space where these changes can be felt rather than explained. I work primarily with acrylics, using a restrained palette of deep blacks, soft beige's, grays, and muted tones. These colours were not chosen by chance: black symbolises inner depth and the unknown; gray reflects a moment of realisation and a transition to another level of awareness; beige embodies clarity, acceptance, and a quiet expression of self. The lines in my works act as invisible boundaries. They are thin, sometimes barely discernible, yet carry significant meaning—they symbolise inner limits, boundaries that we are invited to recognise and overcome. And which are so often violated by others. In some works, the surface becomes more tactile, emphasising the fragility and complexity of personal boundaries—how easily they can be violated and how important it is to restore them. Inspired by human potential and the aesthetics of imperfection, I create compositions that balance structure and intuition. My visual language is minimalist yet emotionally layered. About the moment when a person pauses, reflects, and reconnects with their inner horizon.
