About Barry Andrews

I paint in oil paint on canvas which I stretch myself. I paint full time from my studio in Essex not far from the industrial River Thames where I find inspiration when walking along the estuary and industrial marshland of the River Thames.

The sea and wastelands are necessary for us to explore, where we are able to lose ourselves and are best able to forget all the complexity of life, to wake refreshed better positioned to take on the challenges of life.

I love to use colour to arrest the attention of the viewer that they are better able to identify with the mood of the artist, it is our job to help people better understand the environment that they are able to respect it.
