Biography

Artush Voskanyan, born in 1966 in the town of Vedi in Armenia's Ararat region, is an Armenian artist known for his intricate and surreal style. Voskanyan’s formal training began at the art school in Vedi, from which he graduated in 1980. He continued his education at the P. Terlemezyan Art School, and later, in 1992, he graduated from the Architectural Institute named after Karl Marx, where he refined his skills and broadened his artistic vision.

Inspired by the 16th-century Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo, a pioneer of Mannerism and early surrealism, Voskanyan combines traditional Armenian influences with elements of the fantastical. His work often reflects themes of human nature and the complexity of existence, presented through a unique lens that bridges classical art traditions with surrealist elements.

Throughout his career, Voskanyan has exhibited his works in numerous international shows, including exhibitions in Armenia, Belarus, Argentina, the USA, and France. His contributions to the art world have earned him recognition and several awards, highlighting his impact on both Armenian and international art communities. Artush Voskanyan's work continues to captivate audiences with its blend of historical influence and modern interpretation, making him a celebrated figure in contemporary Armenian art.
